Three young runaway pigs have been found "safe and well", the Lancashire Wildlife Trust has said.

The three six-month-old saddleback sows escaped from an enclosure in woodland in the Forest of Bowland close to Clitheroe around a month ago.

A farmer spotted the missing pigs and after a "bit of pig wrestling" by three men the trio were captured.

The pigs, which were in woodland as part of a trial to encourage natural regeneration, had "doubled in size".

Those porkers are absolute corkers !!

Left much longer they'd have started getting hairier, cos they go feral in next to no time, don't they?

Wonder if they'll be able to keep em in now though - if they've gone voracious, and there's plenty to eat in other places in the forest (which there must be) - won't they just trample fences down? I wouldn't want to pick a fight with any of em, much as I love them!
