In remission from Type 2
7.6 on waking this morning, despite having my T2 in remission and being below 6 every day for months. Skipped breakfast, walked to Morrisons to get a paper (2 mile round trip) and was 6.3 when I got back.

Tested again 2 hours later, 6.2, and two hours after that 6.3, but 7.1 two hours after that despite eating hardly anything for lunch.

Bacon omelette and salad for tea, 5.1 two hours later. So, apparently back to normal but let's see what tomorrow brings.

Had the runs today so maybe that explains it but don't mind admitting that it made me anxious all day.

A stomach upset could definitely be the cause Martin and worrying about it could also send it up or keep it high, so best not to worry if possible. Pleased it has gone down now though.
I woke up to a pretty shocking 11.0 this morning and I've given myself an increase in basal and bolus insulin and currently 11.8 even though I have had nothing to eat since some ratatouille and cheese at lunchtime (no appreciable carbs but gave myself what I consider a whopping 5 units of insulin dose anyway) at lunchtime. Sitting around in the house trying not to disturb the air is probably not helping but will be heading out soon to feed and muck out horses for the night so maybe that will drop it.

I know what you mean Martin. I guess I'm the same, I want to think that there's some reason behind the levels on the meter, but I guess that only works at the meta scale. Individual readings are wildly unpredictable. I had a 7.1 yesterday after being months below 6 myself. Didn't feel any different, but I've been on a low cal diet, so felt that might explain it. But perhaps the thing is that its mostly just random hormone interactions and all we can ever really rely on is the overall trend line rather than the individual reading?

It's kind of frustrating if you're into numbers as I am, because I can't explain it clearly to myself. The scientist in my wants to dissect my organs to see how they tick 🙂 but I'll wait for that to happen once I'm gone I think 🙂

Sorry to hear about your anxiety Martin. Disconcerting when you get results you aren’t used to from clear reason. Hope they settle down soon.

Having said that... Those would be extraordinarily stable levels for me!
