ROANOKE, Va. ? A local girl says she feels like a rockstar, after learning the frontman of a famous band was paying to send her to summer camp.
11-year-old Kennah Hebert was first diagnosed with type I diabetes when she was just 8 years old.
Heavily involved in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), she and her mom Amy recently wrote a letter to Poison lead singer and reality TV star Bret Michaels, asking if he would attend their annual charity walk in Roanoke this fall. Michaels also has type I diabetes and started a foundation to raise awareness and money for research and programs.
