Are a nightmare!!! I swear I never used to be this bad with them but sugars got up to 18/20 on sunday!

Are there any more diabetic friendly ideas? Everything is so carb-full i'll list what was in it, roast potatoes, pork, cabbage, carrots, swede, 2 yorkshire puds (Small ones!) and peas.

Seems like i'm well out of sync with home cooking after being away from it for months here at uni. Oh and my mum has a tendancy to overcook things so that is not helpful!

Help would be much appreciated 🙂

I'm expecting it's the roast potatoes and the yorkshire's that might be the main culprit.

Once in a while when we are feeling lazy we head down to our local Toby Carvery for a roast lunch or dinner.

I tend to only have one or two small roasties and completely avoid the yorkshires (especially the huge ones they have). Everything else is not a huge issue - usually cauliflower, carrots and broccoli (I can't stand peas). Roast parsnips are a big no-no for me.

Roast pork, turkey or chicken is usually OK. I've been told beef and lamb are not so good.

When I have a roast i just pile the veg on and leave the tatties off the plate, careful with gravy as well if you dont make your own then go for the blue lidded bisto...my weakness is mint sauce but i make my own now seen as the jar is crammed with sugar
