People at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes will be targeted by a health roadshow which is to visit Slough.

Diabetes UK will bring its Healthy Lifestyle Roadshow to Slough to offer people a free risk assessment to find out the likelihood of them developing the disease.

An estimated 4,400 people in Berkshire East have Type 2 diabetes, but are unaware they have the condition.

The roadshows aim to tackle this by highlighting risk factors and encouraging members of the public to change their lifestyles, because 60% of Type 2 diabetes could be prevented through lifestyle change, such as weight loss and exercise.

The roadshow, supported by Bupa, will be in Queensmere in the square on August 29 and 30 from 9am to 5pm.
