Recon at last...after 12 months I am mainly controlling my levels with a Metformin in the
morning a Foxiga about mid day a second Metformin before I go to bed.
Insulin 10 units before breakfast. Unless I go out to eat ie about twice a week I get very lowish
spikes . At the moment 5pm I have showing and over the last 7 days.
3% in the Red
21% in the yello
76% in the green
That will do for me
Been discharged from my monthly Nurse Checkups as she says I am doing well and do not need anymore monitoring

Woke up this mrning at 7.30 Libra showing it had trundled along around 6.5. to 7 all night.
injected as soon as I wake up as usual
Now it is 0900 and just topping off at 9.9
Why does it start shooting up as soon as I wake up.
Now its leveling off I will have something to eat and drink

Sorry to hear you are seeing a frustrating rise when you get out of bed :(

There are a few of us on the forum who get that. It seems to be a form of Dawn Phenomenon, which is triggered as soon as you get up. On the forum we’ve given this the nickname of Foot On The Floor Phenomenon.

Dawn Phenomenon is a release of hormones in the early hours where the body ‘fires up the burners’ for the day with a dump of stored glucose.

Some people find that eating soon after they get out of bed can help keep their liver happy, and stop the rise in BG.
