Looking for your help, is coconut oil supposed to taste like coconut? I only ask as when I've looked at it some state flavourless and some neglect to mention it, I'm looking for one that has flavour to it so brand recommendations would be very welcome, TIA 🙂 xx

Kaylz...it's unlikely to flavour anything you make with it...possibly just a trace of flavour...for that real coconut taste many will use coconut essence...or possibly some coconut based liquor.

It was too add to my porridge rather than using butter! lol xx

I haven't found coconut oil has much flavour at all, though I tend to buy the same brand from B&M, so maybe others have a more prominent taste.

Why rock the boat? Butter is fine with breakfast oats.

We went to the Dominican Republic on holiday one year where everything was cooked in banana oil apparently and a LOT of the food tasted of banana!

I don't actually recommend that …...

I bought The Groovy Food Company coconut oil and I can definitely taste it when I use it. I only tend to use it for curries.
