I'm type 2 diabetic, and since 2012 I've been on 80mg Gliclazide on a morning and 80mg on a night. Recently my dose has been increased, due to a high HbA1c (69)at my annual blood test, to 160mg morning, 80mg at midday, and nothing at night. Should I have been taking 80mg at midday rather than last thing at night?

You need to check with either who prescribed it or Pharmacist.

@grovesy is absolutely correct. Never second guess on your meds and check with you prescibed the medication for you or the pharmacist.

The answer is yes, to avoid unnoticed night time BG drops.

Thanks for the advice guys. Went to the pharmacist, and he confirmed I should be taking them morning and noon. Just don't understand why I was told to take them at night???

Although, if you were eating a low carb or zero carb breakfast then I suspect it might be different!
