@Richard157 was mentioned in my thread on Diabetes Medals. I thought he had written a book. After a lot of trawling I have managed to find it. Has anybody read it?

Richard doesn't seem to have posted in recent years. I found a post from 2016 to say he had reached 71 years free of serious complications. Sadly I will not achieve that as I had a BKA last year which is why I get obsessed with PAD and foot conditions.

Has anybody seen more recent posts from him?

I know Richard157 quite well. He’s American and in latter years has been very busy with US based sites and rarely visits any UK based ones. He started his book as a series of blogs - you can find them here in DSF blogs. This is the link for the early chapters https://www.diabetes-support.org.uk/diabetes_blogs/?cat=10&paged=3 they continue over several pages... see the links at the bottom f the pages for “newer entries”. He’s alive and well and currently very active in a Facebook group called “Diabetes Mastermind”. Hope this sheds some light for you.

If you click on the link you’ve created in your post, it comes up with his profile, from which I see he hasn’t logged in here since Oct 2011.
Edit. Patti came up with more useful info for you while I was typing!

I saw a post from Richard yesterday on one of the American sites with a sticker saying 75 years on insulin.

Just saw your bio @Pumper_Sue . Sorry to read about all the extras you have been dealt. I wish you well.
Thank you 🙂
In all honesty though none has a great impact on my life. Addison's take the tablets and life is normal. Manage the diabetes and life is normal, MS that's the biggest impact due to the fatigue but knowing what caused the problems it's a case of deal with it.
The cyst on pancreas until I knew what it was, that was a major problem, now I have the Creon so I can digest food all is fine so back to as normal as I will ever be 🙂
