Made a new dessert last night.

Make up a sugar free raspberry jelly using half boiling water and half single cream. Pour into individual pots with a few frozen raspberries (or fresh if you have them) Leave to set in the fridge.
Makes a lovely dessert, rich, but refreshing at the same time.

That sounds similar to a Blancmange I used to have as a kid. Defo worth trying 🙂

Ha ha Vince - there was a dessert mix sold as 'milk jelly' however the mums gathered outside the school gates whose kids liked this very soon discovered you could make it with a normal jelly tablet, half boiling water and a small tin of Carnation/Ideal milk without lining whoever made the packet mixes, pockets.

This was in the days of course when fresh cream only happened once a year, same as chickens !

And if you whisk the evap it turns into mousse! It was a standard pud in our house.

Ah - I had this niggly suspicion you had to physically do something else, couldn't just remember!

It was my big sis that used to make it for her kids, the eldest of whom will be 47 in May LOL - twas he who not able to pronounce 'evaporated' when he was very young, always referred to it as 'operated' milk. (and hence that's what we all called it too) Quite sensible really when you are only about 3 !
