Was over my brother's for the usual Thursday night dinner. He did chilli & Basmati rice with a Lidl HP roll on the side. The rice was a microwave one & I had half the packet so not a huge portion. BG before 4.5, 2 hours after 7.1. Larger jump than ideal but think I did ok. It wasn't wholemeal rice either. May have been lower without the roll. Will have to try wholemeal Basmati & see how I react.🙂

A half pack of the packet micro rice is 32.2 grams of carb Mark and the brown wholegrain is 29.1 for a half pack (Tilda) - 125g portion.

Thanks for that Amigo.🙂 Although I low carb, I've never really calculated how much I can take. Should do really I suppose.

Mark, I don't want to rain on your BBQ, but for rice, pasta and pizza when you get around to trying them, please test for longer than 2 hours. Rice is known for multiple peaks in some people, over several hours.

I can recall someone, on another forum, a short while after the Libre launched being utterly gobsmacked by his reaction to rice, after a lot of years as a diabetic (albeit he was T1, so may not have had the advantage of improved insulin resistance some of us "enjoy" when we trim up).

As I say, I don't want to be a killjoy, but it's worth a few strips to test every 30 minutes until you are right back to where you started I'd say.

I did test after 3 hours. Was 5.7.🙂
