can any body help me :confused:one year ago my driving licence was revoked because i could not read the number plate anymore at required distance 😱but it was very close run thing ...iam told the distance is getting shorter but when🙂 ps i was a forklift driver for 32 years and when my enployers found out i was told not to drive anymore 😡 this devistated me and i was offerd redundancy which i took i have got any hope please advice me one of the reason my eyes where damaged is due to diabetes
 
Hi Ray sorry I cant directly help with your queary as I dont drive,but I wanted to say hi,someone will hopefully be along soon to help you out.If you have not already maybe have a look around the driving section of the forum and see if anyone has had any simlier issues,that may be of some help to you.
 
These are the rules

You'll have to read the number plate from a distance of:

? 20 metres for vehicles with a new-style number plate
? 20.5 metres for vehicles with an old-style number plate

New-style number plates start with two letters followed by two numbers, for example AB51 ABC.

You get 3 goes.

If you can't do it, you can't have a licence. Full stop.

Is there nothing that can be done - glasses or contacts - to improve your sight?

Were your eyes damaged before you were diagnosed or due to poor control afterwards ?

Have you improved your control since ?

You may sometimes find your eyesight will improve with better control. If you want advice on this, shout up and we can throw some ideas your way.

with glasses or other means that will improve your sight, you should get you license back, after they test your eyes again that is.........

all hope is not lost.......

thanks for cheering me up i hope my eyes get better to ...🙂 after some time my diabetes got poor which i did not control very well but now i am on nova mix 30 for last 18 months my bs is 5 to 9 ish which is a vast inprovment ray u

found out wat mdi is i have been insulin for 5 years now 😛 ray u
