hi all, not wanting to be a bore but nurse was nice, empathetic, sympathetic but realistic and said that I am young and looking well. Mmm. Think the attending student probably thought I was a but odd.
I was honest about how I was feeling, doing etc. We looked at options. She has increased one medication and I have to monitor(not blood glucose monitor) and let her know if side effects get problematic, or if weight goes down any more, which she doesn’t want.no injectables at present and we will see how I get on with diet and (dirty word ) exercise. BP check in a month as it was raised- but understandable and as it was better in December she has not recorded it. She offered dietitian appointment again but I,ve left that just now. Review again in 3 months to try to get things on track. Was so worried about appointment, that now I am wiped out. Oh and thyroid has settled on current regime.
Now definitely going to keep a food diary
Thanks for your support folks

You can only see how it goes Carol, maybe with the lighter nights and warmer!!! weather, you may get out for more walks, I certainly don’t do any formal exercise as I find it boring, even walking unless I am going somewhere, I always try and plan my walks so they are to some avail, ie picking up prescription, getting a loaf of bread, visiting mother in law. I just do it the long way round. I also like to ‘race’ people, usually old folks and toddlers! I pick someone in the near distance and try to see if I can catch up with them, just really gets the old heart going, no good dawdling! Keep your chin up, you will get there. Take care. X

Thanks for this.when I am off work I try to walk to shops and take long way back. Biggest walk I had today was round Sainsbury’s buying veggies and alpro drink lol

I'm glad to hear the nurse took a practical and positive view of things. Hopefully, we'll all have a good spring so we feel compelled to get out and enjoy the good weather! 🙂 Behind you all the way Carol, let's give that nurse a big - and pleasant - surprise the next time you see her 🙂

Good to hear you had some useful suggestions and your thyroid is behaving itself Carol. 🙂

I find it motivating when you know you are going back for a review in 3 months instead of going it alone for months on end. 🙂

Thanks Flower. I was pleased at that. Keeps you on track as well a bit.

Here’s hoping. Hopefully spring will be nice for everyone. Can’t wait to get out in the warmth and start to plant some stuff.
