I've got my next review with the GP and nurse (the same day for once) next Friday, the 19th, so I'm planning to get the blood test done this Friday at the hospital.

I really really don't want to go back to Metformin, but I'm been so busy lately I haven't been exercising much, and I am getting the jitters about the appointment :(.

Earlier this morning I looked for my old paperwork in order to list properly my previous HbA1c scores and found some DESMOND stuff from 2013 - what a laugh! At the start of the session we were given our numbers on a slip of paper, and mine was 8.7% as at August 2013. I think I joined this illustrious forum round about then, and I listened to you lot - my HbA1c for November 2013 went down to 5.6% (or 38). I thought that was interesting! And there's an awful lot in the DESMOND booklet about feeling depressed....I wasn't particularly depressed but reading that stuff don't half bring on the gloom.....

I've taken this motto walk in like you own the place full of confidence even if you don't.
Take your notes with you and ask questions if you have any.
I've mine on the 17th and have questions again for them.
Doctors are not gods but like to think they are well some do. Nurses are worse I find more the ones that just PN and not DPN.
I've never been offered a course just the one of dietician which was a waste of time and money.
Good luck now.

I hope you get a pleasant surprise with your results Pine Martin. As you've been so busy you may have kept your BG levels lower than you think. Must admit I was surprised when my hba1c went down this time. Even if metformin is mentioned you can always ask for a 'reprieve' Say a 3 month retest. Good luck anyway. Be keen to hear how you get on 🙂
