Review scared

Thank you I don't normally do insulin in the morning because i have cereal sometimes and if I do I get hypos
That's a nice specific issue that a DSN ought to be able to discuss. Might be that not taking insulin in the morning works fine for you, or it might be they can suggest something else that's worth you trying.

This is your appointment @corriefan and the purpose of these is for them to help you.

I find it helpful to have a n agenda for the appointment which I email to my consultant beforehand. He knows what I want to talk about. We rarely get round to talking numbers and stick to practical support.

Another thing I found helpful at the start was to take someone with me who had a copy of the questions I had. If I forgot to ask any thing he would prompt me. It was also useful to be able to go for coffee afterwards and make a note of the answers from the consultant. My friend/OH often remembered things that I didn’t.

Let us know how you get on.

I’m sure it will go better than you think @corriefan

It’s very easy to spiral into anxiety about things that *might* happen, or conversations you *might* have, which never actually happen. Try to just work out what you’d like advise or suggestions about, and anything you’ve been finding tricky.

Hi I'm really scared as tonmorow going to hospital to see the consultant on my diabetes review I don't think I am doing well anymore I'm struggling to get perfect glucose

Nobody gets 'perfect' glucose all you can do is get the best you can with the tools you have available. Your consultant is there to help you do that not be critical. If your tools are not good enough or you are not sure how to use them effectively then they should help you with that. But be honest, don't hide or make light of any problems, say what you need help with to improve your diabetes management.

Nobody gets perfect glucose!

Can you think of specific things that cause you problems that they may be able to help with? That should be your (and their goal): how can you do better, which very much includes your mental health so any changes they (or you) come up with have to be things you can realistically do, while doing whatever you most care about in the non-diabetes parts of your life.
