Review appointment today

[Carmina]

I had an appointment with my GP this morning. I wasn't looking forward to it as he's been less than supportive up to now.

But he couldn't argue with results like these - (diagnosis day in red, today in green)

HbA1c - 86 (10%) 45 (6.3%)
Weight - 119 kg 103 kg
BP - 150/90 125/60
Total cholesterol - 5.3 4.11.3
LDL 2.8 2.1
Micro-albuminuria present none

He wants me to go back in 6 months and if I've maintained or improved all the above readings, he'll halve my medication with a view to discontinuing it 3 months after that. 🙂

ETA - forgot to add that diagnosis day was 20th September this year.

There's been a lot of reading, learning, testing and exercise gone into getting to today.

And I owe a huge thank you to the lovely posters on here for answering questions, giving encouragement and just generally being wonderful human beings. Oh, and for being the real experts on diabetes. Medical school is no substitute for living with it and learning how to handle it.
