Hi Karen I'm so glad that the appointment went so well and that you were able to celebrate afterwards 🙂 xx

Good news for me today. I saw the same consultant as last time and she was very reassuring about the condition of my eyes. She could see no reason for the referral and commented that it could happen after the next screening as they seemed to be over cautious but better that way round than the alternative. Either way I am off the hook for 12 months and had a lovely lunch and glass of wine to celebrate.

Oh and I asked about the photo coagulation and it means that lasering has been done - so now you know. Thanks all for your support.

Really pleased to hear this Karen 🙂 It sounds a bit like what happened to me - the consultant couldn't really see why I had been referred 🙂

Thank you all, I'm very happy! Alan - that was precisely what she said - "I don't really know why you have been referred but don't be surprised if it happens next year as well!!"

Hi flutterby, thank you for sharing your appointment i have mine tomorrow i have shown back ground retinopathy in both eyes and i'm petrified. My Hba1c is coming down but still high i've spent the last 4 weeks trying to get control back and get my levels down i have just got this cgm app and 2 sensors are on there way i hope it's not too little too late xx

Karen, sorry to hear you have been through the mill - but pleased the consultant was so reassuring.

Best wishes lovely x

Excellent news Karen!

And made me laugh when I saw the explanation of photocoagulation. We should have realised it means someone's shone a really really intensified light beam straight in your eye. (you know 'photo' = 'light') You'd think they'd know that too, wouldn't you, really? LOL

(Oh dear, there is some redness along the line of this operation scar where we cut her last week to get her ruptured appendix out. D'you think we ought to write to the patient and tell her?)
