Pleased to get my letter confirming no sign of any retinopathy, so something else I can tick off for the year.

Due to have blood tests for HBA1c etc in the New Year, after my virus/cough & Xmas I'd be very surprised if my average doesn't go up. Hope the appointment doesn't come through very soon, to give me a chance over the next few weeks to hit the gym again as not been able to go for over 2 weeks due to virus.

Great news, may it continue for many , many years to come.......🙂

Great news lynne, had to re arrange mine came for the 10th at 2.45 day was fine time was not , so reschedueld for 18th at 9.45,hope its positive for me as last years resuly showed first signs of retionpathy

Hi Steff

Fingers crossed for you. My hubby had background retinopathy and the next test showed he was clear.

That is good news SimplesL long may it continue!
Those tests always make me nervous but so far mine have been clear thank goodness!

I hope you feel better from your virus soon x

i've had background retinopathy for about 10 years now. Improved control and they almost couldn't see it any more (days before cameras you see).
Still get monitored annually, but last time the technician started giving me a lecture about high blood pressure (I have low blood pressure actually) rather than diabetes control, so I got a bit disillusioned with the process.
And by the way, I do drive myself home afterwards as long as the sun is not shining!
🙂

Its funny,

I have tried to enter into a technical conversation with the technician about the photographs and they just say they cant comment as they are not doctors.............

So the fact you said you got a lecture from one about blood pressure is very amusing....

I have an eye appointment this coming Monday as the retinopathy has progressed to maculopathy in one eye. Not very happy with it to be honest, but I seen the photo and the leakage, which is very minimal anyway, was on the outskirts of the retinopathy/maculopathy border, so I am telling myself it will be OK. I needed my BP meds tweaked for a good few months before any action was taken, so I blame this......

Anyone else progresses on to Maculopathy and had a good story to tell...?
