'Evidence of early diabetic eye changes'

Same as last time..... suppose is good as they have not got any worse

Letter makes me laugh. I quote

' meanwhile any possible improvement in blood glucose or blood pressure is recommend'

Really? I don't have high blood pressure and generally I'm very well controlled unless I keep trying stupid useless contraceptives lol

After a couple of weeks of naughtyness a month ago all my test this last week have been between 3.8 and 6.9 ( except 1 night time hypo of 2.6 from my wine afternoon) 😛

Anyway I'm of to watch Up and nurse day 5 of my headache.....

Same as last time means things not worse so thats good isnt it Di ? Hope your headache gets better soon 🙂

Definately good news that things haven't gotten worse Di 🙂

Hows the headache today? xx

Di, I am pretty sure that our local PCT's send out that letter as standard and only send anything else if they actually find anything.

My test this year the optician shared the screen with me as she searched for any evidence and could not find any. She then opened last year's picture and said usually they circle the area(s) of concern but hadn't with mine and furthermore, she could not see anything. She said it was possible a more experienced person had picked up on something she could not see and that was why it was not left to one person.

When I then got exactly the same letter as last year, I think they are minor scare tactics and to make sure you go back the following year. It is South Manchester that does mine - who does yours?

Still the same  - think it is going to get worse today, got some not very nice redundancy meeting at work to do :(

Seeing gp tomorrow so wil speak to him about it - think it is some kind of head cold - funny thing is tho its not affecting my bs which is weird in itself.

I did expect any changes with the eyes, think the damage they can see if pre diagnosis - but yeah good not got any worse xxx

Hi Margb, it is south Manchester that does mine as well and my optician said the same to me last time. Standard letters hey !!

Sounds like an interesting theory/tactic Marg! 🙂 Glad to hear there is no change Di. As you know I'm pretty weel-controlled (BG-wise 😉) and I did move up a stage a year or so ago, bt this is because the 'early changes' were close to the macula and therefore a potentially greater risk, so there is an element of luck in where the 'changes' manifest themselves. I'm now under the eye hospital for my checks. The consultant did point out the problem to me, but since I'd just had the drops I couldn't make anything out! 🙄

Eyesight

Hi

This is only my second post since joining. I am awaiting my eye scan plus a full eye examination with my consultant at the hospital.
I am newly diagnosed and have very blurred vision. I also have very watery eyes at the moment, and on my left eye, low down I have what resembles a blister/bubble of fluid. I'm hoping all this will pass when the tablets (Metformin) settle me down.
