Hi, diagnosed 18 October 2021. Asked if could try without tablets. Was high of 90! Cholesterol 5.8 kidneys perfect. Today 3 month am down to 58, cholesterol same, kidneys perfect. Lost 2 stone with tweeks to diet but I still have carbs ( good ones) as keto not for me. And I needed to eat healthy but normal so diabetes not making me feel sad. My eyes and feet are good. Will check in 3 months if I can lower it if not will look at Metformin. I use a glucose test monitor and before meals I average 4.6 after meals (2 hours) average 7.6/8 . It's a lot of effort but am happy.

Well done on your result, there is no reason with continued effort you should not be able to get it down further by the next test, just make sure you don't let your diet drift and maybe look to tightening up a bit on your carb intake so your after meal reading are nearer to 2mmol/l more than before meals rather than 3mmol/l. That should help your HbA1C to be down further by next time.

Hi SweetAnn, congratulations on your results!

It seems like you’re on a great path and have found a formula that works for you so, keep going! Making lifestyle changes instead of dieting is key so it's worth just continuing to tweak and improve things bit by bit.

If there's anything we can help with, do let us know. We've got a wealth of info on the forum and would be happy to help.

Brilliant. Sounds like what you are doing is spot on.
Those BG readings are well within target.
A non diabetic target is 7,8, and meters aren't that accurate.

Oops meant 53 not 58..

Looks triffic!

I'd bet that your next HbA1c will be even better, given the lag & your execllent BG readings.

Anyway, my HbA1c went from 89 at diagnosis to 57 at the 3 month mark - so very close to your results so far.

Then 40 at 6 months, 36 at 8 months - and then constant in the mid-30's for the 3+ years since (except for a blip into the 20's - probably a glitch).

That was all from losing some weight, with a little bit of carb restriction early on, but not recently.

Good luck!
