Further to my hospital appointment on 1st may. They have pretty much confirmed what I and many others suspected anyway they have said LADA type 1 and I have been put on a bolus basel regime. All my bloods were taken by my hba1c had gone down from 12.3% to 11.6% which is good. Thyroid function was fine as they were concerned with my weight loss.
My biggest issue lies with the supposed diabetic nurse whom I have mentioned before in my posts. The hospital said they wished to perform a GAD antibodies test to which I informed them I had already had that done hence my T2 diagnosis, it turns out they had requested the test and taken my bloods but never performed it so I was diagnosed nearly a year ago with T2 from results of a test that was never taken??? Where do I stand with this?

Fantastic news that you have a definitive diagnosis at last @Sammi87 - really hope you can turn a corner with this now after all the grief and heartache you have been through.

If you wanted to make a complaint about the way you were treated, you should contact your local PALS (Patient Liaison peeps) who should be able to advise you.

You might also want to chat things through with the DUK helpline who might be able to give you some advice as to what to do next.

Results heading in the right direction which is encouraging and must be a massive relief to you....you've certainly had a rough time with this.

Well I guess what you do very much depends on what you want to do. I'm sure you're very angry and frustrated at the moment...rightly so. I think if it was me, I would give myself a couple of days and then write to the relevant people concerned, Drs surgery for starters, with a letter of complaint, maybe copying it to your new team. I would then move forward with the new team of experts to help and advise, concentrate and put your energy into your new regime and getting better. Use your energies there.

Great news that you have a definitive (and much predicted) diagnosis Sammi. Now, hopefully, you will be able to improve in leaps and bounds now you are receiving appropriate treatment. It's very bad that the original diagnosis was given on the basis of tests that weren't actually performed - I would also suggest contacting Diabetes UK, because this type of thing really shouldn't happen and could happen to others.
