Thanks for everyone's comments and support. It was a really good consultation with the GP and I think the thing that surprised me was when she said to watch the carbs and recommended the low sugar diet by Dr Michael Mosley. The last doctor told me to cut down on fats eat fruit and vegetables etc. . Just the usual dietary advice. I told this doctor that I had been cutting back on my carbs since diagnosis (although not out altogether ) and was eating protein , healthy fats and vegetables and she seemed ok with that as a plan. So it was good to have some affirmation that what I was doing ws acceptable medically speaking.

Thank you Davo, it was much better than I expected. I think all the info and advice on this forum has really helped me loads to get to grips with the lifestyle change. I just hope I can keep going ! ☺
