Its 7.9 The Dsn said medication was up to me, but as I was doing very well with diet and weight loss (well done you she said). She said lets see how you are in 3 months for a repeat as it was early days still. She said when I was diagnosed in March the HBA1c may have been higher and has come down to 7.9 due to my weight loss and diet control.
The urine showed less sugar than before.

I asked about insulin and she said Yes she will support me with that, and said if I wanted to go down that line she would refer me to the diabetic team at the local hospital to go through the options. She agreed , for me (and my disability) its more natural.

She said normally if she suggests insulin to most folks they put their hands up in horror at the thought of injecting them selves .

Anyway I dont feel despondent as I feel so well.

I'd kill for that HbA result Lass, I think she's right and you seem to be doing well. It's encouraging too that she's willing to support you going onto insulin if you need to. Well done.

That all sounds very encouraging veganlass 🙂 It's good that you have such a supportive nurse who has listened to you and how you want to manage your diabetes. It's good to see that she respects your motivation and the hard work you have put in so far. You've done extremely well, and isn't it great to feel so much healthier because of it? Best wishes for your continued success! 🙂

Well done Veganlass 🙂, it's a good first result!

Well done Veganlass that's a great HBA1C. :D It's really good that you have a nurse that will listen to you and take appropriate action

Yes I am lucky, she is very personable.

Celebrated by having a bowl of chips...:D🙄

Well done on the A1c. Before you take the plunge with insulin don't forget the implications for driving, apart from that you shouldn't have any problems, unless you have a needle phobia.

Well done Veganlass🙂

Well done Veganlass. You've come a long way and should be proud of yourself. It's good that you have such a supportive Doc too. Hope you enjoyed the chips! XXXXX

Believe it or not I havent see a doc, since diagnosis , only the DSN.🙄

Still she knows her stuff and there isnt a need yet to see a doc,.
Wished I hadnt had the chips..😱
