Good afternoon,

My name is Charlotte, and I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist conducting research with 11–19-year-olds who have a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. I am excited to share an opportunity to participate in a research study focused on understanding the experiences of young people aged 11-19 with Type 1 Diabetes.

Who can take part? Anyone aged 11-19 with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes who has used a glucose monitoring sensor (CGM) for at least a year. Children 11-16 must have parental consent.

What is involved? A 15-20 minute online survey, to be completed by the young person, with an optional follow up 1 hour research task. Parents are welcome to join this if preferred.

Why? To help us understand children and young peoples experience of diabetes technology and how this impacts their eating habits

How to take part? If you, or your child are interested, please fill out the survey here:

If you’re interested in taking part or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out on c.newman5@herts.ac.uk

Thank you for your time. Your input will be valuable in helping us understand more about the impact of diabetes technology for children and young people.

We don’t have very many members who are in that age bracket (and of course those we do may not be interested in participating!)

I’m not sure if @AlicePalace @Lily123 @Thebearcametoo @Sally71 know of anyone who might want to get involved?
Hi Mike, Thank you for your message and for linking in others. I did wonder if there might be fewer members here in that age range (and of course, as participation is entirely voluntary, not everyone may want to take part), but I thought it was worth reaching out just in case—or to see if there might be any parents connected to the group.
All support is very much appreciated!

Hi I turned 20 this year I have had type 1 diabetes for 10 years and my cgm dexcom g6 for about 2 years. I was wondering if I can still take part even though I am now 20.

Hi Alice, apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Thank you for your interest in participating, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately the study is specific to 11-19 years old, so in this instance you're just outside of the inclusion criteria, I'm sorry about this. Thank you for enquiring however and I appreciate your interest.
