I've been rather quiet lately, but I need to scream😱...

Saw a gastro enterologist this week about my gas and diarrhoea (steatorrhoea) problems. He told me to reduce the lactose I consume. I replied that that is were I get a lot of my calories from. He said replace them with carbs. But I have diabetes said I. That's not a problem he says - you have a pump so can compensate for the carbs easily. I tried explaining the roller coaster that increased carbs would exacerbate - at which point his eyes glazed over. I score about 12 out of 10 for frustration.

I wish there was an insulin that worked faster (in me - we're all different!) than Novorapid

Fiasp??

In all honesty I would have felt exactly the same as you if given this advice

Not surprised you reached screaming point, it seems to be the way these days, no specialism can take on board any of the needs of another specialism .

You have my sympathy, Susan <hugs>
Diabetes consultant I saw this week took it upon himself to tell me about ME. He got it wrong 🙄 - among other glaring errors, he told me the only treatment is graded exercise (the primary diagnostic criteria is "post-exertional neuro-immune exhaustion", or in other words, exercise makes you ill).
Must say he coped very well with being yelled at though :D

If Fiasp is no good for you, Apidra pumps quite well and is slightly faster for some people I know.
