Exactly Deus, and our pharmacists are good too, and will go and cross examine the GP about your scrip if he doesn't think it's right (well he normally asks the patient first, did Dr B tell you why he is giving you these instead of those or whatever it is - if the scrip looks wrong)

I agree too about the drug etc deliveries - ours get 2 a day!

I order mine through the local Co-Op pharmacy and if I call on a Monday it will be ready for collection on Thursday. Much easier than having to deal with both the surgery and the pharmacy!

Do you just ring/email the Co-op and they do the rest?

I've recently changed pharmacy due to our move. It used to be Lloyds, now it's a Co-op. I usually email the doctors and CC the pharmacy. If I order Monday, I can pick it up Wednesday afternoon.

Surgery here you can order on line, ring the prescription line, leave request at chemist or have them manage your prescriptions for you.

I order on line or ring in if computer dead. Takes 48 hours from the request going in until you can collect the goods.

It used to be so much quicker in the old days, now though pharmacy's do not keep very much in stock due to the risk of a break in.

48 hour turn round but I do it through my chemist.

Did your docs not pay any attention to the you need it urgently?

I did mine last Monday week and collected it on the Wednesday. I do mine online via the surgery website and then get the goods from the chemist next door to them. On the whole, it works very well and Lloyds have only missed once, last winter when the weather was bad. The roads were closed and they couldn't get the delivery van through from Aberdeen. Even then, one of the other branches had what I needed.

All my tablets are dealt with by/through chemist and delivered weekly in a box/cassette gizmo

But, owt to do with diabetes, pens, needles, strips etc, I have to order
myself via GP
I order on line, which includes a tick box to select chemist for pick up
Bit chaotic recently as chemist has started 7 day opening

My GP practice states....Allow 2 working days.....
about 90% of the time it works, as long as the GP you nominate hasn`t gone on holiday or such like

Standard 48 Hours here order from GPs And pick up from nominated chemist
