THE relocation of regular children’s diabetes clinics from Bantry Hospital to Cork University Hospital (CUH) has been described as a “worrying” development by local Fianna Fáil senator Denis O’Donovan.
Senator O’Donovan raised the issue with Minister Kathleen Lynch in Seanad Éireann recently where he said that three-years-ago, there were monthly paediatric clinics that rotated from being a general clinic to being a diabetes clinic in Bantry.
Now there are no diabetes clinics in Bantry and the general clinic only takes place three times per year.
