Relationship to Diabetes
I'm non-diabetic as far as I know and I'm currently taking 15mg a day of Mirtrazpine (Remeron) for the last 2 months or so. Does anyone know if it has an effect on blood sugar levels? Anti-depressants aren't known to change BS levels but just checking.

Sorry I don’t know , does it mention anything on the patient leaflet.

Hi - SSRI's are known to cause fluctuating BS levels. Makes my levels drop, then increase dramatically (presumably as the liver releases glucose) and the drop again in the afternoon. Absolute nightmare and still searching for one that doesn't have this impact. Hang on, shouldn't my clinicians be doing that...........?
