Registering as a vulnerable person

As dad has not yet received his letter from the nhs.
I went to https://www.gov.uk/search/all?keywords=Registering+as+vulnerable+&order=relevance to register him
On the gov site I put register as a vulnerable person in the search box .

I know quite a few people on here would be classed as vulnerable due to other conditions/ treatments so I thought I would put the link here, it would seem that amongst other things they will help to arrange grocery deliveries.

Important for people to remember that ‘just’ diabetes does not qualify you to be on the ‘extremely vulnerable’ list, you need to have other complicating factors to be included in the 1.5 million who are getting extra support.

My county have launched what is called The Essex Welfare Service, I had an email as I am on their mailing list. They seem to be coordinating the services for the very vulnerable .Which they have a list of those identified by the NHS. They also seem to be offering to assist others that might need help. They have a website, and phone lines every day but different hours at weekends.
I expect other County Councils are doing so too.

I tried to log my dad on the link above as he 85 and has a heart condition, it came back as he is not classed as vulnerable, yet last Oct hospital told him he had to stop driving, and can only walk a short distance, so would not be able to go out shopping.

@grovesy someone did forward on that email to my dad as they only moved from a London Borough into Essex last week, and are still in the process of registering for the local docs as the forms had to be sent by post, which he only received yesterday. I told him to ring the number that was on the email (he sent it to me so I have seen a copy of it), and explain his situation that he has just moved to the area, and still going through the process of registering with the docs, he does have a council tax letter from Thurrock which proves he now lives in the area.

At the moment he had a food delivery yesterday and has one booked for next week, as he has used online shopping for well over a year now. As a family my husband and daughter will do their best to get them what they need, but if they fall ill none of us will get any food, but will cross that bridge when we get there.

I got an email yesterday from Sainsbury's to tell me I'd been identified as a vulnerable customer. I don't know what information they had on me but I did read that they were trying to get permission to access a Government database of 1.5 million people. I'm assuming that they had my DOB from that list and that's what did it.

Hope Tesco do that as well, and that after the most vulnerable have been provided with slots, they start to give the elderly the next slots if available.

I think in one of the emails I had they were using DOB. I have had so many emails even from companies I have not used for years.

That is also how I read the email, it does also say you can contact them direct if you are not contacted.

Yes that was the impression I got too!
