Do you think the brain registering pain releases the same hormones whether triggered from nerve or phantom?

As far as I can tell yes as I can compare phantom pain with a broken femur (the paramedics gave me morphine) and broken ribs. All occasions caused a rise in BG. Before I broke my femur it was around 6 when I took my insulin. Around 90 minutes late it was about 11 despite not eating as I was "floored"!

As I understand it, it is pain in general causes the body stress which will result in the liver increasing it's output, so I think the source of the pain is irrelevant, just the intensity which will impact how high you go.
