After the cgm had my follow up discussion with the consultant this morning. The upshot is he is going to refer me to the pump clinic! Yay!

His main concern is the number of hypos I have - isn't that one of the pump criteria? So now I wait for the call to discuss pumping with pump people. Feel like something is happening at last🙂

Great news!

Yes hypos are very much part of the funding criteria.

Hope you get approval very soon, and there are not too many hoops to jump through first!

Casper,

I saw the Consultant on the 29th and she agreed to start the process of requesting a budget from the Trust. She said it would take 6 - 8 weeks for approval / requet for more information. She sent me to the pump team to review the pumps. I was given a choice of 2, either of which have cgm. Also they have stopped using the Accu check Pump as there have been a number of set up issues. Its a shame because I like my Aviva Expert blood monitor and was hoping to have the matching pump.

Lets see who gets the pump first......:D

Brilliant news! Fingers crossed things move quickly.

Ha! The race is on!

Bearing in mind, I haven't actually met any of the pump team yet, or seen a pump - you have a head start!🙂

Casper that's great news!

??? set up issues with the Combo?

Any pump surely, is only as good as the info you give it? (as in rubbish in, rubbish out LOL) - and bearing in mind you presumably are entirely comfy with how the Expert prefers being told stuff - time blocks etc - would have thought the Combo would have been pretty much a doddle really.

I expect you could cross examine the pump team about what problems they foresee - if you still think you might want one when you've seen the others?
