Hi there,

Has anyone encountered side effects coming down a dose with Metformin? My doc has reduced my daily intake from 1000mg to 500mg and since then, I've had a very upset stomach, almost identical type symptoms to the side effects when I started Metformin. Maybe it's my imagination, but i'm suffering from headache, stomach cramps, and excessive gas.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Donna

I don't know, it does sound counter intuitive! But perhaps the drop in dose has given you some withdrawal side-effects because your body has been used to the higher dose? Hope things settle soon! 🙂
