A Workington nursing home will close because it cannot recruit enough staff.
It means 29 residents at Branthwaite Care Home will have to find new homes.
The owner of the home this week said it would shut in the coming weeks after the number of nurses employed there had reached critical levels.
Executive Care blamed problems recruiting and retaining staff.
It formally terminated its contracts with the county council and NHS on Tuesday.
A company spokesman said the Branthwaite Road home needed about 13 nurses, but now only had three on staff.
