I'm sorry that this is probably a really stupid question to ask but it's never stopped me before 😉

Are all of the recipes on this website suitable for Type 2's?

I know that people have posted their own recipes on the recipes forum, but I mean the ones on the main website. It's just that looking at some of them is making my mouth water so I am convinced that they must be naughty 🙂

Are you referring to the recipes on the Diabetes UK website ? (we're sort of separate from that so I often forget about it! 🙄

As with all these things LucyLoo, it can vary from person to person, so the advice would be to try things you fancy and test to see how well you tolerate them 🙂

Yes, sorry....that's the one I meant 🙂

I was curious because they are on the Diabetes UK website so I figure they must be good for us.....but the carb content in some of them is quite a lot so I wasn't sure. As you say though, it's trial and error.

Oh well, I guess some baking and sampling is in order then hehe 😉:D

Yes Lucy - but some of us don't particularly need to lower our carb - and DUK caters for ALL of us without discrimination. There's sometimes stuff on their website that I wouldn't have wanted to eat even before I was diagnosed cos I've never ever enjoyed whatever thing it happens to be.

If you find you can't cope with more than X amount of carb at dinner time - then you can just ignore the recipes that have more than X carbs in a portion - or look at them if you like the sound of the finished article and see if you could substitute something lower carb to replace some of what's in their recipe, same as you would with Delia ! eg Dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) are often served with a rice and something filling - a bit carby perhaps - so substitute a minced meat filling of your own invention instead.
