Hi all, having searched various resources I have not managed to find any meal plans or recipes that take account of needing a pescatarian low fat no egg diet. Does anyone know where I could find anything useful? Maybe an App that can take account of all of these requirements?

I’m also a pescatarian with egg issues @Bryan I just use a selection of recipes from standard veggie, vegan (good for egg-free obviously) and fish recipe books. I find the egg thing most annoying so my vegan cookbooks are ideal for that.

I plan out my week with X amount of veggie meals, X amount of vegan meals, X amount of fish meals and one or two variable days where I have what fits. I struggle to maintain weight so sometimes I use MyFitnessPal to keep an eye on calorie intake to make sure I’m getting as many as I need to maintain my weight, but most people use it for weight loss.

I’ve not seen any apps that let you filter out recipes exactly according to your requirements and the websites I’ve found don’t have particular appealing recipes. You could use the Diabetes U.K. recipe finder to save suitable recipes to. I just use books or keep mine in a folder. For a weight loss meal plan, you might be best just choosing one and adapting it to your needs.

Sorry you have dietary limitations - I am a pescatarian but am able to eat fish which makes it easier.
It is important to remember that, as someone with Type 1, your diabetes should not impact your diet. A healthy diet for someone with Type 1 who cannot eat eggs is the same as a healthy diet for someone without diabetes who cannot eat eggs.

Hi @Bryan , sorry to hear you've not had much luck so far, but hopefully the replies from Inka and Helli have proved helpful for you - other forum members may well chime in too!

The recipe finder tool Inka mentioned is linked here - https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-to-diabetes/recipes

I did try my own quick search adding the filters 'Dairy Free' and 'Low Fat' with the main ingredient 'fish' for you. If it would be helpful to have a look at the results for this search, please find these linked here - https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-t...[]=44&special_diets[]=47&main_ingredient[]=39

Echoing what Helli has said about healthy diets, we would always say that people’s responses to foods can be individual. Your diet in the context of the contribution it makes to your overall health is important, as well as this, importantly, enjoying the food that you eat 🙂

Would it work to start with a vegan menu, and then add in fish, and use regular dairy if preferred?

We have ended up with a sort of ‘adapted vegan‘ menu for many meals in my house as we got used to eating vegan (which is much easier than you might expect) but now can add in some regular cheese, and some veggie rather than vegan components.
