Hi
I'm looking for a recipe for a cake that will keep a few days in a container that is both low fat and as low sugar as possible. I found a low GI one but this has more calories than the one I used to make before my partners diagnosis.

I'm so confused as to what is best and can't seem to find a recipe that is both low fat and low sugar. I'm warey of using artificial sweetner as it interacts with his tablets. Anyone ever used maybe pureed fruit in place of sugar?

Thanks in advance

hi shirl,

i haven't got a recipe, sorry, but wanted to say that when we make banana cake, we usually halve the amount of sugar and whack in another banana or two.

i made a lovely cake a couple of days ago, but judging how my blood sugars have been after eating some of it, i'm guessing the banana & honey & caster sugar combination was not the best idea!!!!!

I thought this would be better in the food section so I've shifted it. I'm afraid I don't have any low sugar cake recipes either. I'd be delighted though, if anyone had a recipe they could post that doesn't involve eggs either.

Would be very interested in a low fat low sugar cake too. My name's Lisa, and I'm a cake-a-holic. Correction - I'm a drastically overweight diabetic cake-a-holic. So I've had to go cold turkey since diagnosis and start of my weight loss diet.

But my birthday's in May and I want cake! *stamps feet* 😛
