Hi, I was recently (2 weeks or so) diagnosed with diabetes as a result of a blood sugar reading of 62, so trying to work out the next steps. Age just short of 60 but weight was 87.5 kg and exercise was minimal, so have started to add in some exercise each day, even if it’s currently only 2k/10mins on the rowing machine (and 15m+ recovery!)
Meds are Metformin, which I’m currently trying to build up to, due to effects on the stomach which aren’t too bad but will hopefully ease off more with time?
Was already eating vaguely healthily plus sweeteners and diet drinks but currently doubling down on the food and cutting out sweeteners too, just in case that helps, either directly or with getting used to a lower overall level of sweetness in the diet.
