Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello!

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just over a month ago and was in the hospital for a little while to get it under control. I'm slowly starting to come to terms with it but it has been really difficult for me to come to terms with. I've been looking online at support groups for people going through the same thing and I figured signing up for this forum would be really beneficial for support and advice! 🙂

Hello, Caitlin, and welcome to the club nobody wanted to join. Anything you want to ask, fire away, there's always someone who knows the answer, or can at least point you in the right direction, because once upon a time they needed the same question answered.

I jokingly describe that feeling as 'being lost. alone and un-loved' - cos that's what it felt like. People TRY to be sympathetic - but nobody understands like people who have been there themselves.

Just {{{hugs}}} from one who does understand.

Hi Caitlin and welcome to the forum. As Robin has said any questions or if you just want a rant, fire away. We've all been there so will understand and will help out wherever we can.

Hi Caitlin
A lot to learn at the start but it really does just become part of your new normal.
We are all happy to help in any way we can, or to just hear a rant.
Just ask for any help you want, and remember that there are no silly questions.

Sorry you've had to join us @caitlin_.
What are the important things in your life? There are probably forum members who can help with most situations, including jobs, study, sports, hobbies, travel etc. So, do ask.
