Received a letter today inviting me to make an appointment at the specialist diabetic clinic in the main hospital.
Had my check up at the doctors a couple of weeks ago and my reading was 9.5 (80). It has been like that constantly for the past 18 months with a few little variations. Doctor was worried that my levels were not decreasing over time. She referred me to the hospital to see what they think should be my next step - more tablets or different ones or going on to insulin. I would prefer to stick to tablets and exercise so started eating low carb about 9 days ago. Over the last few days my levels have been between 6.5 and 8.6 which for me is a big change. (in the six weeks prior to my doctor's appointment I did not once have a reading in single figures). I am hoping that the hospital will take account of this and maybe let me stay on tablets. What do you think?

Good that you have a hospital clinic appointment lined up. Any decision about your treatment should be made in agreement involving both you and your medical team. So, go along with information about your changed diet, what activity you are doing etc, plus your meter, as most clinics can download readings. Let us know how you get on. How long until appointment?

If I've been on a pig-out and return to low carb my levels go down immediately. I swear by low carb, let's hope it works for you too.

Rather than give me a date they have asked for me to get in touch with them to arrange a suitable time. Will do that this week. Not sure how long I will have to wait

That's good to hear. I hope you don't have to wait too long.
