Thanks for helping bring some sanity to the issue cherrypie 🙂 I don't drive, but the way it has been reported until now has created a great deal of confusion and worry.
 
That's the first time I've seen the words medical intervention, rather than assistance, with 2 hypos.

It would help if the authoratative sources used the same wording so that we know what the actual criteria are.

But thanks for posting. It sounds slightly more positive.

Good to have some sanity and support from ABCD (Association of British Clinical Diabetologists). By the way, Dr Ian Gallen, the spokesman in the article is also the medical doctor behind www.runsweet.com

Surely that is wrong though as the new rule states 1

Thanks Sue. I thought it was more vague than stated by Dr Gallen.

Basically, it can be interpreted as someone putting an arm round your shoulder and feeding you sweets. The guidance needs to be more precise.

I read it as the focus is on people who have 2 hypos in 12 months, ie. more than 1 in 12 months, which tallies.

The bit that bothers me is the discrepancy between requiring medical intervention and requiring assistance of another person.

They're not the same and consequently doesn't go a long way to stop the feeling of a pee up in a brewery being badly organised.
