This is comparing rtCGM and isCGM. Observational (not randomised) with matching and the last paragraph says:
“The data from this study support the benefits and importance of real-time and predictive alerts for individuals with T1D,” Abitbol added.​
so it's possible isCGM was Libre 1 rather than Libre 2. (And Dexcom One, while an rtCGM, doesn't have predictive alerts, so if those are important then that's an issue.)

 
My HbA1c rose from mid-30s to 47 mmol/mol after being prescribed Libre 😱 But that's because I have virtually eliminated hypos, and I am 93% in range, so levels not yo-yoing like the used to 🙂
