Well that sums me up in one, my back has gone again and i am having prostate problems, but at this time i have gotten very sesertive to insulin, is this normal? I always thought if your un well you take more insulin, but i have had to do a tbr and reduced by 20% and i am finding my insulin to carb ratio has shifted from 1/10 to 1/20. I have been gettint fit and i know this would account for some of that. I have also lost 1/2 stone. But is this normal????

I hope you feel better soon.

It is rare but some people go the opposite way with their insulin when they are ill. There are a few here who do.

I've know people do with stress, I usually go up but sometimes I do go down - but not illness per se, back probs usually = inflammation (either muscular or trapped nerves or both) and inflammation anywhere (esp when it's internal as opposed to what you can see on the outside) normally make your BG go up.

I really can't offer any advice other than to do exactly what you are doing - fire-fight !

Have you tested your basal recently though? Cos it would not be unusual to need some reduction in needs with weight loss?

Thanks for the replys. Not tested my basel as it keeps changing, i now have the tbr at 60% so i need it to be stable before i start.
