Hi all,

Can anyone remember when their basal ratio started to change? I'm just over 15 weeks now, and have had higher than normal readings for a couple of days, but I'm also fighting off a cold so I'm not sure whether that's what is causing the rises.

Would be good to get a general feeling for when I should look to insulin resistance, you'd think having done this twice before I'd know, but I'm clueless :D

Thanks.

I saw increases in insulin requirements until 13 weeks when they suddenly dropped. They remained stable for the next few weeks. I'm now 19 weeks and am just starting to have to bolus more for carbs, not seen an increase in basal requirements yet though.

By 15 weeks my basal had started rising slightly this time, having dropped a little in the first tri. Initially it was just a change in the split (I do two doses / 24hrs) but pretty quickly actually dose increases.

My Basal requirement dropped massively, almost right away this time! I'm 14/15 weeks now. Last time, it didn't stop dropping - I was on tiny amounts by the end. I could have still been honeymooning though.

We all seem to be completely different, so I guess it's ok to react to what's going on with your body and not worry if it wasn't what you were expecting given your number of weeks
