Anyone got any ideas? Stopped receiving any info and it just says the above message. Has it completely failed or is it worth waiting a bit?

Have you checked the sensor to make sure it is still firmly attached and the transmitter hasn't come adrift (not sure if the G7 has a transmitter)?
How many days has it got left to go?
I would always give a sensor half an hour or so just in case, but chances are you will need to start a new sensor if it is giving that message.... and report it to Dexcom tomorrow.
