I promised to update a few of you to just to let you know my GAD results showed very low antibodies so I'm told that makes me type 2. Type 1 and 1.5 was suspected because of my rapid ill health and weight loss but it appears not. My tablets are starting to help at last and I start insulin in the new year. Its been quite a roller coaster since being diagnosed 3 months ago but am feeling more confident and optimistic lately. Finding this forum has really helped as I know now that I never need to feel alone again! Am just about to fly out to Barbados tomorrow for our honeymoon cruise. I have a stinking cold but hopefully it will clear up quickly. 🙂

Hi Chatty thats sounds promising well done and at last you have the right diagnosis, im pleased your feeling more confident, now go and enjoy your holiday :D have a great time..hope the cold dont ruin things to much xx

Thanks for the update! Great to hear that you have a proper diagnosis and that the meds are starting to work for you 🙂 I hope that you can leave the cold behind and have a wonderful time in Barbados - you lucky thing! :D

So glad you have a final diagnosis and feeling more confident. Have a fantastic time....🙂

Really glad that you now have the results and can move forward. Have an absolutely wonderful time. In Barbados:D

Good news that you're off on honeymoon cruise with prospect of starting insulin in new year - it's getting the right treatment that's the most important thing, rather than the diagnosis, although.

Hope you enjoy your honeymoon - lots of swimming and good choice of foods, I hope? Well, that's what I'd want in the Caribbean - I've never been on a cruise, but about 1 year after diagnosis, I got a cheap flight to / from Dominican Republic with 1 night in an all inclusive resort, then travelled round independently & alone, using local buses and staying in small hotels (once a room behind a village grocery store), speaking Spanish, for 2 weeks, but perhaps your priorities are different? Enjoy whatever you do 🙂
