Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I have type 2 (diagnosed May 2022 - 85 Hb...). Now down to 50 with low carb diet. I am on Sukkarto metformin x2 500 per day; was also prescribed Amlodipine for high blood pressure 5mg; a statin has also been prescribed very recently.

I know about the intestinal problems of Metformin but does anyone also get stomach pain and indigestion? For the last few weeks I have got some sharp pain and, at times a tender/achy pain down the side of the left ribs and slightly under ribs. I am getting more intestinal problems too, making it difficult to go out. It could be the Amlodipine that's making things worse. I suspect I need to ask the doc but I was just wondering if anyone has the stomach type pain/indigestion with Metformin.
 
ps....I am told they don't want to see me until next June - seems a long time?

An annual review is standard and what’s reccomended, but you can ask for an appointment earlier if you have problems such as the stomach pain.
