I think I have a plan!
last night I took a piriton antihistamine (I also take loratidine in the morning for hay fever) I still have the reactions, but they’re much less painful and itchy.
I spoke to a DSN, they believed me, but all they could suggest was moving to Lantus, from having a nose here and on some other diabetes forums I’m not sure that’s going to help. Plus, I need to talk to my GP to get Lantus.
So, instead, I’ve decided I’d rather stick with the levemir and try to manage and eventually desensitise myself to whatever I’m reacting to. I used to react to the Omnipod and eventually solved that. I’m not convinced moving to lantus will solve the issue, just move it around and I’ll end up taking another basal and another. I’ve always struggled with nightime hypos so I think the flexibility of the levemir is best.
