anyone know why after a meal of battered sausage and chips, I know, but hey, it’s my monthly treat, after 2 hours I have a reading of 10mmol/l, but 10 mins later it reads 6.3mmol/l, (sorry, didn’t measure pre-meal) I remember reading once that not having enough blood on a test strip could cause a false reading. Any ideas?

Fat causes the spike from carbs to slow down quite a bit, hence it takes longer for the spike to pass down to 'normal' again.

Apart from anything else, given the normal accuracy range of blood test meters, your machine could have given you 8.9 then 7.2, say. Would you have been so shocked?

Not shocked By the range difference, but surprised by the short 10 minute timescale from 10 to 6.3!!.
