Hi dave,
Unfortunetly we can't answer those questions for you as the best person to see would be your gp,at your appt on monday do mention this, two stone is 6 weeks is a great weight lose dave also.you mention you had cereal for breakfast something that causes havoc for a lot of us diabetics as it often causes a spike,,maybe look into alternatives of low carb meals like bacon and scrambled egg or throw in some tomato or poached egg.

Hi Dave

Sorry to hear you are struggling.

It does sound like you need to speak to your Dr as 23.8 and rapid weight loss suggest things are really not right.

Incidentally, T2s can lose their beta cells (they kinda burn out trying to produce more and more insulin even though the body can't use it properly) but this would not make you T1. Just a T2 who needs to inject insulin. There are more T2s injecting insulin in the UK than T1s. Crazy to think I know, but the number of T2s is so much greater that the proportion of them that inject is still a bigger number than *all* the T1s!

As Steff suggests, reducing your carb intake until you can see your GP is a good move.

I don't give my daughter (type 1) rice krispies because they spiked her level too high!
