Sebastien Sasseville has not let diabetes stop him from climbing to the summit of Mount Everest, running across the Sahara, or completing six Ironmans.

His latest quest is to run 7,500 kilometres across Canada to show others living with diabetes what is possible.

“My goal is to inspire people to live their lives to the fullest, no matter what challenges they face,” Sasseville said Saturday in Halifax.

The Quebec City resident began his run, called Outrun Diabetes, on Feb. 2 in St. John's, N.L., and is now in Nova Scotia with roughly 1,100 kilometres of the journey behind him.

“I’m a little sore but that is to be expected. It’s a very amazing journey,” he said.
